Helping Patients Obtain an Illinois Medical Marijuana Card
Many of you have contacted PDI with the question, “How can I obtain an Illinois medical marijuana card?”
To help, PDI Medical held a credentialing event on Oct. 24, and more than 50 patients plus caregivers and physicians attended the event to get answers to their questions and assistance in applying for an Illinois medical marijuana card. It was great to meet everyone!
Dr. Mark Mandel, CEO of PDI Medical, spoke to Daily Herald reporter Erin Hegarty about how it can be frustrating for sick patients to fulfill the application requirements, which include obtaining state-certified fingerprints and passport photos as well as a physician certification.
To help make things easier, PDI Medical professionals worked with patients to walk through the credentialing process.

Patients and physicians also talked to Dr. Mandel and pharmacist and PDI Medical COO Joseph Friedman about questions they had about treating their symptoms with medical marijuana.
Physicians shared that it was important to learn about medical cannabis as a treatment.
“It’s one therapy that, yes, is very controversial because of the social uses and misuses, but it’s a therapy many patients would benefit from,” said a physician who attended Saturday’s event.
